Focus on linen, a material that is gentle on the planet and the flagship of the French textile industry
1. Linen, an eco-responsible and sustainable material
Flax is a natural raw material from a plant whose cultivation requires no irrigation, chemical inputs or pesticides. The entire plant can be reused in different industries, making it an excellent zero waste material.
2. Linen, a local material, the pride of our region
Produced mainly in Normandy and Hauts de France, flax fibre makes our industry shine internationally. Indeed, France is the leading producer and exporter of flax in the world. The spinning mills have been completely relaunched, allowing our territory to be independent in their flax production, from the cultivation of the plant to the extraction and spinning of the fibre.
3. Linen, a material of the future
Linen is a magical material mainly used in the textile industry, but which today is also proving its worth in other industries such as sports (skis, snowshoes), the automobile industry (reinforcements of doors, trunks), construction (for construction, insulation) or even for the design of certain objects (furniture, musical instruments).
